Stickers
After receiving some feedback on my outcome, it was prominent that I need to consider separating layers and playing around with 'add ons' to the concept. A playful way of doing so is developing stickers as it introduces a sense of interactivity and empowers the user experience to apply these stickers wherever they want; this in a sense links to the idea of vandalism in the origins of post punk, and reclaiming identity by reshaping the genre of punk. I feel like a sticker format also compliments the stylistic quality of the design, as it does have a kind of graffiti atmosphere, and is has a very bold/ loud visual language.
I think material wise, if I was actually making these physically I would have definitely printed them with a neon or glow in the dark; this fits the bold and loud nature of post punk, and its accentuated instrumentals within its production.
I think even though my outcome explores the abstractions and themes within post punk in Russia, I still need to consider the design as a sold product, so I think these stickers work well in adding value to the design, as well as being an extension of the album design. I could also think about other add ons to the design, like a print possibly? But all in all I want everything in the final outcome to have a collective feel/ consistency and share the same visual language. This works well in creating motifs associated with the micro genre and its artists.
