Crit for initial zines

Crit feedback

Today I received initial feedback on the zine designs for Garfield Minus Garfield I developed last week, helping me push the design process further. The main focus of the crit feedback was how I could link my physical outcome to the essay, and he subjects discussed within it. As well as this, I need to develop my outcome with various paper stocks and folding techniques, to test out ways I could translate the blog; It was suggested in the crit that newsprint could be interesting to use for example. Here is a list of the main ideas suggested in the crit:

- Try different paper stocks e.g. newsprint or coloured paper
- Try alternative paper sizes other than A's; depends if you want to keep it traditional to zines or make something different
- Don't focus too much on the content of the comic; the point is to focus more on how you can physically print designs with paper
- Try making a poster zine that folds out to form an image
- Make a monthly zine series; a few comics for each month
