Final group crit feedback

Crit Feedback

The focus for the final group crit was mainly on which designs I should focus on for the final submission; this will help me concentrate on one concept this week, so I will have a final outcome at the end of the week. The two main concepts I presented were the banana sticker designs and the bubble texture designs; I felt like thee were the two strongest concepts, as they had a balance between formality and the fun atmosphere I want to develop to share with Bill Brysons sense of voice.

The main things that were highlighted in the crit were:

- they preferred the bubble texture designs
- this week focus on justifying the decisions and links to the book for the submission rationale for penguin; what does the design communicate?
- the design could be linked to viruses and bacteria
- the texture resembles the idea of weather?
- concentrate on approaching the the blurb and the layout of adding the penguin logo
- try removing the box around the cover?
- make the repeated text look more legible; try having the title in the background of the texture?
- in general just consider what I need to communicate

After this crit, I need to focus on the above this week. I'm glad that I am now in a position where I have narrowed the design process down to one concept, and can just make subtle changes to it this week and experiment with the placement of the blurb. As well as this, I need to start considering the design board process possibly?
