Bumper sticker developments

 Bumper sticker developments

I wanted to play around with applying the minimal ink design style into my bumper sticker outcomes; this use the same method of image treatment as the previous book design, which allows the sticker to be printed using only one ink. Despite this, I wanted to ensure that although the stickers only use one colour, they still maintain a fun and playful sense of voice.

In order to provide consistency within the design, I used cooper black for the bumper stickers, which ensured that they kept the same fun and lighthearted tone. The visuals used for the bumper stickers are a lot more minimal, in order to use less ink, and are a mixture of images and my own illustrations. In terms of the colours, the actual vinyl sticker paper stock could be bright and colourful, in order to further expand a fun and playful atmosphere. As well as this, I could possibly look into vinyl stock, such as neon or reflective? This would work nicely in offering a contrast to the paper stock of the book itself.

I made some quick mockup layout visuals to see how the bumper stickers would look within the book; I really like the juxtaposition between black and white and the vibrant vinyl stickers; it builds a much nicer visual hierarchy and places more emphasis on the stickers themselves. I also think that to further improve this, I could possibly try using different coloured paper stock to see how they would work with the bumper stickers; this would especially be helpful if I'm using recycled scrap paper that could be different colours.
