Layout developments

 Plan

In order to create a more interesting dynamic for the book, I want to add more tip-ins to separate the text from the image; this will create a better visual hierarchy, as well as allowing me to experiment more with the images (e.g. full image spreads).

Digital mockups

The visuals used still have a witty sense of voice, but without the text have a lot more impact due to a better amount of negative space- this paces more emphasis on the image, as well as intriguing the audience as without the text, they feel a lot more allusive, thus pushing the audience to navigate towards the text.

Here is an example of how the layout will use tip-ins to add the text and bumper sticker; in terms of the paper stock for this concept, I want both the text and bumper stickers to contrast with the book itself, allowing the design to have a more interesting tactility whilst celebrating and emphasising the vinyl texture of the stickers.

At this stage in the project, I now need to concentrate on working out the logistics of the physical outcome; such as testing out binding, paper stocks and printing methods. I was thinking that the print specification could involve screen printing as the designs only use one colour?
