Aims business cards
After getting the 5 designers business card concept done (or at least initially complete), I decided to try out styles for the 5 aims design. These designs used the same approaches in the sense that they are intentionally bad; this also helped in relating to the idea of aims, as its playfulness reflects a sense of naivety. I included word art, MS paint and comic sans for each card; this allowed the designs to have a witty, ironic sense of humour, through intentionally bad design.
I used an airbrush gradient effect in the designs, as it kind of has the reputation of being outdated and bad; I want to transform this bad design to fit into attitudes of contemporary design, by creating a confident concept. Whats more confident than using comic sans as a typeface?
These versions use a threshold effect to experiment with different textures; it kind of helped make the design look more consistent. However, there is the issue that the gradient elements look a bit too bad as they kind of turned into a black hole? Maybe I could try half tone the images instead?
