Playing around with ugly colours/ mockups

Adding a weird glowy texture

I thought I'd play around more adding a glowy/ nostalgic element to the design by adding more of a neon blur to the typeface; I like how this provides a vibrancy to the outcome, and links to the alien like atmosphere I want to obtain. This issue with this iteration (above) is that the image is too raw; it only has a subtle white wash effect applied to it.

This version has much more of a stronger texture applied to the image, which links better to the censorship concept by hiding aspects of the original visuals.

I wanted to consider the vinyl sticker and how I could cut out aspects of the design; this version uses a photo of an abandoned building to link to the translation of the bands name.

I played with using a distorted 'm' as a symbol; it looks cool but conceptually makes no sense.

I played around with applying a threshold texture and using block colour to provide a much more gritty effect; I do like how these look visually, but they do seem very heavily stereotypical of post punk genres; I want my outcome to challenge conceptions and rebel against stereotypes.

I considered how the image could be blurred slightly to convey a sense of censorship even more; I quite like the outcome but feel like there still could be more textures and elements added to the album cover.

Mockups

These mockups look at how I could print separate elements onto different layers; this one in particular shows how the text could be printed onto the plastic cover, and the symbol used as the vinyl sticker.

I think this outcome could definitely be developed to have a lot more interesting colours and textures; it doesn't look as chaotic as I want it to.
