Physically testing the developed CD format

Physically testing the developed CD format

I wanted to further test out the CD publication format physically with the right sizing and format in order to see if it would function properly. This meant using the designs that have the inner circle cut out so that the paper would fit in the disk space.

The issue with this version above is that the inner symbol circle is obviously disrupted by the CD holder, which limits the emphasis on the symbol; this is a problem as I want the symbols to be the key motifs throughout the publication, so I might have to reconsider the placement of the symbol. Instead of this, I could maybe have a custom CD case for the publication that doesn't have the inner circle part; this would help the publication function better, but it would involve having to have a custom CD case designed.

This design has an alternative placement of the symbol (both larger in the centre and at the top of the design) so that it is more visually dominant in the designs visual hierarchy. It definitely works better in the context of having the inner CD case holder, but this is dependent on whether I could remove this element of the CD case. I might ask for some peer feedback on this consideration, as personally I prefer the design of the original publication concept, which would be ideal if I could remove this complication.
