Using the correct CD format
I ordered some CD cases in order to get more of a feel for how my final outcome would work physically; this also informs the tangible elements of sizing and proportion of the publication.
I need to consider that the inner right hand side cover will have the CD publication, so elements of it will be hidden; this could be something interesting to play with, as I could possibly have information hidden behind the CDS; for example I could have further instructions telling the audience to find the locations/ posters via a QR code to the map? Or I could have the map on this side?
I got the sizing wrong for the physical tests, so they need to be scaled down slightly.
I also found that there was this raised section that could be interesting to have something separate on it; for example the colour scheme/ gradient or maybe the actual symbols?
I quickly did some research into the actual sizes of CDs and found the correct sizes, so scaled down the publication designs to print. One issue with the publication design that I have found so far is that because the CD case has a hole in it, it means that I need to cut a section out of the centre of the publication, thus disrupting the symbol design. Due to this, I need to reposition the symbol design, possibly closer to the text/ type setting?
