Plastic wallet- text overlay
In order to experiment with type, I thought I could layer and repeat the typeface to create a kind of chaotic atmosphere to reflect the musics harsh instrumentals and conflict between vocals. As well as this, this experiment helped me consider the idea of a plastic overlay - I could theoretically print the text on its own on the plastic sleeve. In a sense, this relates to the theme of censorship within the origins of Soviet punk/ post punk, as the text will hide the visuals of the actual album cover, until it is pulled out; this provides a sense of interaction with the audience, and lets them break the censorship.
Zine
I also thought about the physicality of the album cover in how I could introduce a zine possibly? The centre design could be separate the the album cover, and could be turned into a little zine - a poster zine could work well? Here above is how it could be overlaid. Also, it could be quite cool to feature the photography that I have gathered throughout the project; kind of like a 'behind the scenes'. The only issue with this would be that I would have to make a digital mock up due to recent circumstances.
Here above is what the components would look like if the album back and front were opened out; I could try tweaking aspects of the colour scheme as it might be too chaotic? Also I need crit feedback. I asked a few peers online which design they preferred, and this design was the one they liked so far - so could end up being the final concept (initially)?
