Powerstation images

Primary images

I decided to explore more melancholic/ industrial imagery through taking some primary photos of abandoned power stations near home; these derelict visuals reflect the idea of isolation discussed in themes within Russian post punk, as well as reflecting the impact of the collapse of the Soviet Union.  These also linked to idea of the impact of the Chernobyl disaster on members of Molchat Domas' birthplace, thus touching upon deeper contextual themes.

Edits

These are some quick colour/ editing tests I tried out with juxtaposing harsh threshold treated images with soft and delicate colour palettes; again linking to the contrast of vocals and instrumentals in post punk. These definitely need developing further; I was thinking of printing and rescanning the images to add more texture as well as testing out collage more?
