Plastic packaging/ sale bags - Obviousplant
After the crit, I have more of a defined idea into what publication format I want to use; it would be quite funny and ironic to use 5 plastic bags for each topic, and put elements of the publication in the bag. This would play on the witty play on toy packaging in Obviousplants' work, as I could use intentionally bad type. A suggestion in my crit was to have the 'contents' of the bag on the back of the paper section.
Business cards - Elliot Ulm
This spiked star shape is a reoccurring thing within my work and my 5 designer, so I thought it could be cool to make my stickers this shape. As well as this, I thought it could be cool to put my text/ type on a business card format, which could be put in the plastic bag also.
Stickers - Seapunch
I really love making stickers in my own designs, so thought it would be an obvious choice to make some for the PPP publications; Seapunch also involves a lot of stickers in his publications, so I can take inspiration form his style of work.
New concept for the final PPP publication
After looking at further visual research, I think I have decided on what I want to make for the final publication based on this and my crit feedback:
- 5 plastic bags with 5 stickers and 5 business cards each
- 5 stickers for each collage of imagery
- 5 business cards for each section of text for each topic
- the card section of the bag using collages of the contents
- use wordart or paint for type?
