Colour gif experiment

 Colour gif experiment

Now that the submissions have ended, Spencer and I decided we want to start posting in colour as a kind of 'new era' of the project. Due to this, I wanted to apply colour to the logo designs I previously created, as well as animating them to flick through the submissions. I feel like this would be a fun introduction to the next steps/ content in the project, as well as engaging the audience and contributors more.

The gif design was pretty simple; it flicks through the submissions for the letterforms as well as animating them to move slightly. This kind of brought the letters to life, thus linking to the idea of emotions more alongside the colour changing. I animated the gradient background the change as the logo moved, as it related to the concept of flicking through emotions in regards to colour psychology.

I also wanted to create a quick gif flicking through the final selected submissions we have received; again, it was pretty simple, as it just showed the letters, what emotion they portray, as well as who submitted them. I wanted to do this as I feel like it was a fun way to credit the designers who worked on the project, as well as hinting to the colourful visual language we're going to go ahead with for the rest of the project.

To view the gifs/ animations, they are available on our instagram account at https://www.instagram.com/moodglyph/

Instagram feed

This is what our instagram feed is currently looking like; the colour logo gif post breaks up the black and white theme and works well in setting a new visual language for our future content. Despite this, it still fits with the consistent visual identity of MoodGlyph, as it still uses a lot of negative space and sticks to black block colours juxtaposed by the coloured gradient.
