Logo concepts

 Logo concepts using submissions

Since we have now received all of our submissions, I wanted to start making some content for the post submission instagram. I felt like since Spencer had made the 'thank you' post, it would be fitting to make a post for our instagram that showcased all of the submissions.

I wanted to stick to the theme of a grid for the logo concept, as it would be consistent with the content we have posted showcasing the alphabet (e.g. the story updates). Above are some initial examples using a grid, although at this stage I didn't use the alternating black and white colour scheme. This made the logo look a bit flat, and I also didn't like how the squares were together. Despite this, playing around with alternating the letters gave me the idea to make a looping gif of the logo, as because we have multiple submissions for 'm, g and l' I could make them flick through and change.

Here are the improved versions of the logo concept using submissions; I made the boxes alternate in black and white, as well as adding a gap between each square. This definitely improved the outcome, as it made the logo have more of a contrast, as well as emphasising the letterforms. I think this version would be cool to animate, as it would be more playful and I could even make each letterform move slightly to bring them to life. I'm gonna create some quick animations to experiment with how I could bring the letterforms to life; this would also be very fitting for instagram content, as I could make it in colour to break up from the pre submission content.
